Heavyweight champion Hasim Rahman and former titleholder Lennox Lewis are likely to sign a contract in the next few days for a title fight on November 17th in Las Vegas, a lawyer for Lewis's promoter said on Thursday.
"I am very, very, very, very, very optimistic after today that we will reach agreement for a fight on November 17th," Main Events lawyer Pat English said.
There have been, apparently premature, reports in recent weeks that a contract for a rematch had been reached.
English said the contract between the two fighters and their promoters could be signed over the weekend but more likely would be sealed next week.
