Paris - France's political map looked set for dramatic change yesterday as a split widened in the country's third biggest party, the farright National Front. On Wednesday leader-founder Mr Jean-Marie Le Pen sacked his rival and would-be successor, Mr Bruno Megret, for joining a challenge to his authority.

A survey in the centre-left daily Liberation said a majority of Front militants in the French provinces supported Mr Megret.
