Tough as teak filly Lailani can look forward to a period of relaxation after completing her sixth success from six outings this season, her trainer Ed Dunlop said today.
After returning to Newmarket following yesterday's length and a half victory over Snowflake in the Vodafone Nassau Stakes, the winner of the Irish Oaks is set to be turned out into the paddock for a vacation before being prepared for an autumn campaign which could take in the Prix Vermeille and Breeder's Cup.
"We have no set plans at present," said Dunlop. "There are obviously other fillies of Sheikh Maktoum's to take into consideration but France remains an option and one's also thought about the Breeder's Cup Filly And Mare Turf.
"Options are open but she'll have a nice break for a while.
"She'll have a very easy week this week, probably turned out in the paddock and then we'll continue to go gently for quite some time."
Dunlop has ruled out the Aston Upthorpe Yorkshire Oaks for Lailani but he could still be represented on the Knavesmire later this month by Mot Juste, runner-up to Lailani in the Kildangan Stud Irish Oaks.
"It's very, very unlikely that she [Lailani] will go to York. The plan is for Mot Juste to go to York. She's in good form, I'm very pleased with her."
Referring to Lailani's run of success - which kicked off with a 10-length success in a Windsor maiden in April - Dunlop said: "She's an amazing filly.
"You have to blink to think she's won six on the bounce. Add to that the fact there are two Group One's as well makes it truly amazing.
"I hope she gets credit for what she's achieved by winning six on the bounce.
"The fact that she's won a Classic and a Group One makes it even better, obviously, but you know as well as I do not many horses win a race never mind six on the bounce.
"I think she deserves credit and it's all down to her heart that she's produced what she has." - PA
