Kerry put Fermanagh to the sword in the their All-Ireland Football qualifier at Portlaoise this afternnoon, dominating a hugely one-sided affair from start to finish.
The large crowd at O’Moore Park witnessed a blood-letting as Fermanagh found themselves out of their depth against a Kerry side that punished their deficiencies ruthlessly.
Fermanagh, curiously, did manage to open the scoring but that served merely to annoy a Kerry side that duly swatted them aside. Two goals within the opening five minutes, courtesy of Liam Haslett and Colm Cooper, signalled the Kingdom’s intent and they went on to open a 2-5 to 0-2 at half-time.
There was no let-up for Fermanagh after the interval with Kerry, who made numerous changes at the break, continuing to pile on the pressure. Relentless attacks yielded a steady flow of scores with Fermanagh wasting all but two of the opportunities they fashioned.
In the end, Fermangh were the happier side to hear the final whistle leaving Kerry to reflect on a job well done.
