Jury due to retire in murder case

A murder trial jury is expected to retire at the Central Criminal Court in Dublin today

A murder trial jury is expected to retire at the Central Criminal Court in Dublin today. Mr John Hogan (29), of Talbot Avenue, Prospect, Co Limerick, has pleaded not guilty to the murder of James O'Connor (35), a father of three from Ballinacurra, Weston, Limerick, in Limerick on January 9th, 1998.

The prosecution claims Mr Hogan inflicted multiple stab wounds on Mr O'Connor, seemingly without motive, and left him to die at the side of the road. It also claims the victim, in his dying breath, named Mr Hogan as his attacker.
