The jury in the Central Criminal Court trial of a Co Dublin carpenter charged with raping his daughter has been discharged on the second day of the hearing. The 57-year-old man has pleaded not guilty to 24 charges of rape, unlawful carnal knowledge and indecent assault between 1978 and 1990.

Mr Justice Barr discharged the jury during cross-examination of a witness.
