LIVERPOOL - A Mormon bishop, Dr Peter Gibson, was yesterday cleared by a jury on 19 charges of indecent assault. "The 72 year old bishop had been accused of indecently assaulting six female members of his congregation at Mill Bank chapel in Stoneycroft, Liverpool and another young girl over a 21 year period.
But Dr Gibson, of Church Road, Roby, Merseyside, denied the charges and said he had been the victim of a conspiracy of liars.
