A very astute booking by the Body & Soul crew, the Chicago-born boho-soul singer and producer's Irish debut showcased a star on the rise, a musician with heart and passion stitched right into the fabric of his tunes.
Aside from being part of New York City's Romantic Movement posse and preparing for an upcoming Zulu Guru collaboration album with MeLo-X for Ninja Tune, Boykins III will also grab headlines for the sheer intensity and
infectiousness of his liquid, intense funk and soul.
You get the Prince vibes for sure from the songs and performance, but there's also current r'n'b licks in there alongside low-slung hip-hop, jazz and electro. A beautifully played bump and grind for Saturday night/Sunday morning thrillseekers.
