A German concert promotion company yesterday won its High Court action against the rock and roll singer Jerry Lee Lewis for allegedly failing to turn up at a Munich concert in January 1993.
Neue Constantin Film Productions GmbH sued Mr Lewis (61), for damages in this State because the performer was living in Dublin at the time. He denied the allegations and said that if agents organised the concert, they had no authority to do so.
Yesterday, lawyers for both sides told Mr Justice Kelly Mr Lewis had not complied with conditions imposed on him by the judge on June 6th last. He had put a stay on the orders but yesterday lifted it. The orders were that the company recover judgment against Mr Lewis for $81,930 and interest and that it was also entitled to recover judgment for special damages, to be assessed.
