JERUSALEM - Israel's High Court of Justice yesterday upheld the election of Mr Benjamin Netanyahu, rejecting petitions that could have forced another vote for prime minister.

Two hours later, Israels Central Elections Committee officially declared Mr Netanyahu the winner of the May 29th election, formally confirming results announced last Friday.
