`Irish Times' appointment

Nuala Haughey has been appointed Social and Racial Affairs Correspondent of The Irish Times.

Nuala Haughey has been appointed Social and Racial Affairs Correspondent of The Irish Times.

A native of Lurgan, Co Armagh, she is a graduate of Queen's University Belfast and Dublin City University.

She has written for The Irish Times since 1995, and joined the staff in 1999.

Her series of reports on asylum and immigration issues won the Law Society's Justice Media Award in the daily newspaper category last year.
