Fintan O'Toole has been appointed an Assistant Editor of The Irish Times. He will be resuming his weekly column in the new year following his return from a six-month assignment in China.
He has been writing for The Irish Timessince 1988 on a wide range of cultural and political issues, including the beef tribunal, church and State relations, and the impact of economic change on Irish society.
He edited The Irish Times Book of the Century, and was joint author with Shane Hegarty of The Irish Times Book of the 1916 Rising. He has also written several other books.
