Ireland's Catherina McKiernan romped to victory in the Margate International cross country meeting today.

She devoured the six kilometre course in 17 minutes and 50 seconds to finish 15 seconds ahead of team-mate Rosemary Ryan, with French champion Laurence Duquenoy third in 18mins and 36secs.

Seamus Power completed an Irish double by leading from the start to win the men's 9.5 kilometre event. He finished in 28.43, six seconds ahead of England's Adrian Mussett and Billy Farquharson.
