Gardaí issue appeal for witnesses to fatal incident in Co Tipperary

Gardaí have issued an appeal for witnesses to a fatal traffic incident in Co Tipperary to contact them.

A pedestrian in his 60s died when he was hit by a truck on the N24 at Townpark, Carrick-on-Suir at about 2.40pm on Friday.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene and his body has been taken to South Tipperary General Hospital in Clonmel.

The driver of the truck was not injured.

The section of road was closed for a time for an examination by Garda crash investigators. It has since reopened.
