Number of shots fired at Glasnevin hotel

Gardaí seeking witnesses to the attack which took place in the early hours

Gardaí are seeking an armed man who fired a number of shots at a hotel in Glasnevin, Dublin, in the early hours of this morning.

At about 3.30 am a lone gun man approached the Sunnybank Hotel on Botanic Road and is understood to have fired a number of shots at the front door and window of the premises.

The hotel is located in a mature residential suburb and a number of neighbours were awoken by the shots and accompanied shouting.

Gardaí are keeping an open mind on the motive for the attack but are anxious to speak to anyone who who may have seen the man approach the hotel, or anyone acting suspiciously in the area in the early hours.
