Man (60s) dies after single-vehicle crash in Co Meath

Man was only occupant of vehicle involved in crash in early hours of Sunday

A man in his 60s has died after a crash in Co Meath in the early hours of Sunday.

The single-vehicle incident happened at Robertstown, Kilmainhamwood, at about 12.25am, a Garda spokesman said.

The man, who was the only occupant of the vehicle, was taken to Our Lady’s Hospital in Navan where he was pronounced dead. A postmortem is due to take place at a later date.

The road at Robertstown was closed on Sunday morning and local diversions were in place.

Investigators from the Garda forensic collision unit were due to examine the scene.

Gardaí have appealed to anyone who may have witnessed the incident or who was travelling in the area at the time to contact Navan Garda station on 046 9079930, the Garda confidential line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda station.

Any camera footage, including dash-cam, is asked to be made available to gardaí.
