A 16-year-old boy from Co Galway has died in a swimming accident in Germany.

Jack McHugh, from Corofin had been on holiday visiting a relative in Munich last week when the tragedy occurred.

He was treated in hospital but passed away on Tuesday.

Jack is the eldest son of Declan and Mary McHugh and has two younger sisters. He is the nephew of Tuam Cllr Tom McHugh
