Invitations for the wedding of Sir Paul McCartney and Heather Mills confirm it is taking place on the Castle Leslie estate in Monaghan next Tuesday.

Preparations are continuing at Castle Leslie in Co Monaghan where ex-Beatle Sir Paul McCartney and Heather Mills are to get married. Security is being stepped up today ahead of a church service inside the grounds.

Meanwhile, the heavily-guarded gates of the estate will be opened to parishioners in the morning for Sunday service at Saint Salvator's protestant church.

They are concerned reporters, photographers and fans will try to attend the service as an excuse to get a glimpse of the preparations.

Church minister Gary Roberts says about 25 people usually attended his Sunday services at the chapel in County Monaghan.

Following days of rumours that Sir Paul was about to marry Heather Mills at the venue, about 250 people have asked if they could attend.

Mr Roberts said: "We would always encourage more people to come to church - but for the right reasons. The security staff are being briefed but the service will still go ahead.

"The service will be restricted to regular parishioners and others from the area who have shown an interest or have attended in the past."

Meanwhile preparations are continuing within the 1,000 acre grounds where three marquees have been erected for guests who are expected to attend celebrations on Tuesday.

Mobile kitchens, generators, oil tankers, frozen food lorries and special events consultants have all arrived at the site within the last 24 hours.

It is thought a yacht has been floated on the castle lake but it, as well as the walkways between the marquees, will remain covered to prevent prying eyes from catching a glimpse of guests.
