High-tech giant Intel has announced a 108 per cent jump in fourth quarter earnings compared to the same period a year ago.

High-tech giant Intel has announced a 108 per cent jump in fourth quarter earnings compared to the same period a year ago.

The fourth-quarter figure of $1 billion topped Wall Street estimates.

Fourth-quarter revenues hit $7.2 billion, up 10 per cent sequentially and up three per cent year-over-year.

"2002 ended with a strong quarter," said Mr Craig Barrett, Intel chief executive officer.
