The Irish Insurance Federation's anti-fraud ad campaign has been handed the Irish Design Effectiveness Award by the Graphic Design Business Association.

The billboard campaign promoted the IIF's "Insurance Confidential" hotline for the reporting of insurance fraud. The hotline was launched by the Tanaiste, Ms Harney, in February.

It comprised outdoor advertising around the State as well as national radio and press ads.

The IIF used Focus Advertising to advise on the advertising campaign and Mr Jonathan Tallon designed the billboard posters.

The IIF spent more than €300,000 on the ad campaign which will be run again in October. Insurance Confidential has received more than 900 calls since its inception.
