A former two-time All-Star hurler is to contest a charge of drink-driving, a court heard yesterday.

A former two-time All-Star hurler is to contest a charge of drink-driving, a court heard yesterday.

Former Limerick hurling captain Mark Foley (35) appeared in court on one count of drink-driving on October 16th, 2010.

Mr Foley, of Abbeyview, Adare, Co Limerick, is alleged to have driven on St Nessan’s Road, Limerick, with alcohol in his breath exceeding 35 microgrammes of alcohol per 100ml of breath. Judge O’Neill adjourned the case for a full hearing to June 14th.
