Wales manager Mark Hughes is close to agreeing a new contract that will keep him in charge of the national team until 2006.
Hughes today confirmed talks on his new deal have been completed.
The package will be put before the Football Association of Wales's full council on October 11th for ratification.
Hughes, whose current deal takes him to the end of 2003, is believed to be on £80,000 a year. The new deal with the FAW will net him close to £150,000 a year.
