The Mercy University Hospital in Cork has begun a tracing investigation with the Health Service Executive to try to identify over 120 people who may have had contact with a staff member in the hospital who has been diagnosed with tuberculosis.

According to consultant respiratory physician Dr Terence O’Connor, the risk of anybody becoming infected with TB in this instance was considered to be low.
