ANKARA - The US envoy to Cyprus, Mr Richard Holbrooke, said he would call for a single sovereign state on the divided Mediterranean island of Cyprus with a bi-zonal, bi-communal federation, according to an interview published yesterday.
One sovereign state seems inevitable within a federal bi-zonal, bi-communal system with freedom of movement between the northern Turkish Cypriot and southern Greek Cypriot sectors, he told the Turkish newspaper Sabah.
