A sailor was winched from a Spanish survey vessel, the Remolcargue Bat, by an Irish Marine Emergency Service helicopter between 150 and 170 miles off the south-west coast yesterday. The man, who is believed to be suffering from a head injury, was taken to Cork Airport and then transferred to Cork University Hospital.
