Actress Janet Moran tells Patricia Weston she would like to look more androgynous so she could play men's roles
Do you exercise? Not really. When I'm about to start a show, I walk to build up my stamina. I love swimming, but only in the sea, so I do that about twice a year in Ireland.
Would you consider yourself fit? No, because I can't run for more than a few seconds, but yet I can walk for quite a long time.
Have you suffered any serious illnesses or injuries? I have a weak back as a result of a car accident.
Do you worry about your appearance? I probably should being an actress as how you look is quite important. I'd like to be slimmer but not enough to eat healthier. I'm not interested in clothes, hair or make-up, but my sister has a great sense of style and points me in the right direction.
Is there anything about your body you'd like to change? I'd like to look more androgynous so I could play men. As it stands I could never pass for a man!
Would you ever consider cosmetic surgery? I've been cursed with a sunny disposition and a sense of wonder, so between smiling a lot and raising my eyebrows in surprise, I have quite a wrinkly forehead which I wouldn't mind botoxing.
Do you eat a balanced diet? I try to eat fruit or porridge for breakfast, after that I eat whatever is handy.
What's your attitude towards exercise? I think exercise is something I need to get a bit friendlier with.
Janet Moran will be in The Crock of Gold at The Olympia Theatre, March 15th-25th.
Patricia Weston recommends: Strengthen a weak back and keep any niggles at bay with these stretching and toning moves:
Start in a standing position, then roll your hands towards your toes, hold, breathe deeply, then gently and slowly straighten up. Repeat four times reaching further each time.
Stretch out the back and abs with a cat stretch. On the floor on all fours arch out your back and tuck your head between your shoulders then tilt your neck back as you arch your stomach towards the floor. Repeat slowly four times.
