Awareness week: Acupuncture Awareness Week events include a free talk on managing life's stress with Chinese Medicine on Thursday at 1pm in the Acupuncture and Medical Clinic, 138 Capel St, Dublin 1; and a free talk and demonstration of acupuncture on Wednesday at 1.10pm in AcuWell, Abercorn House, 57 Charleston Road, Ranelagh, Dublin 6.

Volunteers wanted: The Department of Psychiatry and Mental Health Research at St Vincent's University Hospital is seeking healthy volunteers to act as controls in a study on the daily physiological and psychological experience of living with clinical depression.

The volunteers must be aged 35-65 and not have any history of depression or psychiatric illness. Contact the research team on depressionstudy@ucd.ie or tel: 01 2213351.

Fundraising campaign: The Bring a Book, Buy a Book fundraising campaign will take place in offices, clubs, schools and community centres throughout Ireland from March 1st-10th.

Volunteers are asked to set up locations where people can donate and buy second hand books in aid of St Michael's House service for people with intellectual disabilities. Pop-up shops will be set up in Heuston and Connolly train stations. See bringabookbuyabook.iefor details.

Public talks: Nutritional expert and author Dr Marilyn Glenville will give public talks on natural solutions to digestive problems and how to lose fat around the middle next week.

They will be held at the Cavan Crystal Hotel, Dublin Road, Cavan on Monday at 7pm, the Radisson Blu Hotel, Lough Atalia Road, Galway on Tuesday at 7pm, the Clarion Hotel, Lapps Quay, Cork City on Wednesday at 7pm and the Clarion Hotel, Liffey Valley, Dublin on Saturday, 9th March from 10am to 3.30pm.

Endometriosis information day: Living Well with Endometriosis is the Endometriosis Association of Ireland's annual information day on Saturday, March 9th from 1pm-4pm in the Lucan Spa Hotel, Dublin. Speakers include endometriosis sufferer and writer, Anna McPartlin, consultant gynaecologist, surgeon and oncologist, Mr Mo'iad Alazzam, medical laboratory scientist, acupuncturist and endometriosis sufferer, Kathleen King.
