Coronavirus: 1,051 more cases as Holohan urges people to stay mindful of risk

Some 92.8% of population over 18 have one dose of Covid vaccine, 91.3% fully vaccinated

There have been a further 1,051 confirmed cases of Covid-19 in Ireland, the Department of Health has said. As of Sunday morning, there were 319 patients in hospital with the disease, with 60 in intensive care.

A total of 7,216,565 doses of Covid-19 vaccines have been administered in Ireland, with 92.8 per cent of the population over 18 receiving at least one dose, and 91.3 per cent fully vaccinated.

On Saturday, Chief Medical Officer Dr Tony Holohan warned people to be extra careful in the weeks ahead.

He said: “Unfortunately, we’re heading into that time of year when being out and about all of the time is a bit more difficult, the weather isn’t going to be as good.
