Injured Owen Hargreaves has been ruled out of England's European Championship qualifying match against Liechtenstein in Vaduz tomorrow.

England coach Sven-Goran Eriksson revealed the Bayern Munich midfielder is a major doubt because of a back problem.

Sol Campbell was ruled out yesterday after failing a fitness-test.

Eriksson said: "Owen has a back problem - he injured it in the practice yesterday, and it is not good at all.

"We will decide late tomorrow if he comes back to England with us or not - whether he goes back to Munich.

"But all the other players are fit - I can pick from 23."

Eriksson had few complaints about the condition of the pitch, explaining: "It's a little stadium. But the pitch was better than I thought - better than it was when I was here three-and-a-half years ago for a friendly with Lazio."

He revealed he has already decided in his mind what line-up to go with for a game England must win to keep alive realistic chances of pipping Turkey to automatic qualification.

But he added: "It's always difficult. After a night's sleep you may change your mind - but I don't think so."
