An alcoholic who was arrested when called to a telephone in a bar had his sentence for attempted robbery adjourned until October 13th by Dublin Circuit Criminal Court yesterday. Peter Mitchell had been recognised by a newsagent, Mr Aidan O'Hara, as the man he had struck with a stool some weeks earlier after Mitchell had shoved an imitation gun in his face.

Mitchell (26), of Valeview Gardens, Dublin, pleaded guilty to attempted robbery of the Orchard Newsagency, Drumcondra, on April 10th, 1995. Garda Gary Tobin told the court that Mitchell, who had an alcohol problem, used a plastic gun. When struck with the stool, he ran off.
