The Mountjoy prison visiting committee has met and decided to stand over its report. The report is sharply critical of conditions at the prison.
The chairwoman of the committee, Ms Nuala Fennell, said all members of the committee had decided to stand over the report. Their decision will now be conveyed to the Minister for Justice, Mrs Owen.
A spokeswoman for the Minister said the report would be published once Mrs Owen had heard from the visiting committee and provided there was no further impediment to the report's publication.
