GAA: Dublin manager Pat Gilroy has criticised the "work-rate" of his All-Ireland champions after they opened their Allianz Football League campaign with defeat against last year's beaten finalists Kerry.

The manager saw his side fade badly in the second half after taking a two-point lead in at the break and Kerry ran out comfortable winners by 1-14 to 0-11.

"We are very disappointed we didn't perform at all in the second-half,” Gilroy told RTÉ afterwards. "We weren't at the races and giving the ball far away too much. Our work-rate wasn't what it should have been. We know we have plenty to do and that is for certain.

Dublin’s ball retention wasn’t what it should have been, especially after the break as wing back Tomás Ó Sé and the Kerry centrefield exerted a greater influence.

Darran O’Sullivan’s goal killed off any chance Dublin had before Barry John Keane finished the match well to stretch the winning margin to six.

"When you are giving the ball away as much as we were, then you could say we were getting tired. I think that was a big factor, we weren't retaining the ball or winning it around the middle."

Meanwhile, heavy snowfall in Britain overnight has led to the postponement of today's league meeting between London and Fermanagh in Ruislip.

The ficture will be rescheduled and confirmed on Monday.
