Nairobi - Genocide suspect Jean de Dieu Kamuhanda, Rwanda's former minister for culture and education, pleaded not guilty yesterday at the UN International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda in Arusha, northern Tanzania.

The former minister is charged with ordering and supervising the murder of several thousand refugees in a church and school on April 12th, 1994, in the village of Gikomero, near the Rwandan capital Kigali.
