Some 441 motorists were stopped drink-driving last week, gardaí revealed today.
This is an increase of 21 on the previous week when 420 drivers were found under the influence.
A spokesman for the Garda Press Office said officers would continue to pursue enforcement in this area of road safety.
Gardaí renewed their appeal for people not to drink and drive.
