Gardaí in Ahascragh, Co Galway, are investigating the death of a three-year-old boy after he apparently fell from a four-wheel-drive vehicle yesterday.
A Garda spokeswoman said the incident did not take place on a public road. The child is understood to have fallen from the vehicle on a farm.
He died later at Portiuncula hospital.
A spokeswoman for the Health and Safety Authority said this evening that the body would not be carrying out an investigation into the accident.
