It is understood that most of the €40,000 in cash which was stolen during the raid was recovered by gardaí.

The cash and a firearm were recovered by gardaí during the search of a house in Drimnagh, where a woman was also arrested.

Gardaí said two men in their 40s and a woman in her 20s were arrested during the searches of several houses in south Dublin.

The cash was stolen on Saturday at about 4.15pm from a cash-in-transit van at a Maxol station on Walkinstown Avenue. The three arrested people were being detained last night at Crumlin and Sundrive Road Garda stations.
