Two Gardaí are travelling to London this evening to question a man, over the murder of the woman whose body was found in Walkinstown last night.

The man, in his early 60s, has an address in Walkinstown, and was arrested on a minor charge by British police in the early hours of this morning. He is being held at Kennington Police Station.

The woman has been named as Ms Georgina Eager (29) from Ballinahinch, Newtownmountkennedy, Co Wicklow.

The Deputy State Pathologist Dr Marie Cassidy is carrying out a post mortem examination on the body who was found in the downstairs bedroom of a house in Walkinstown. She had suffered severe head injuries and it is thought she was stabbed at least once in the back of the neck with a knife.
