A major search operation is to take place in the Wicklow Mountains this weekend in an attempt to locate a 26-year-old man who has been missing for over two months.

Stephen O'Meara was last seen leaving his home in Rosehill in Wicklow Town at 6.30pm on Thursday August 6th 2009.

The Wicklow Garda Divisional Search Team will be assisted by the Garda Mounted Unit and Civil Defence and Mountain rescue volunteers in conducting a search a number of forest and mountainous locations in the Redcross area of County Wicklow on Saturday and Sunday.

He is described as 6 feet 2 inches in height, of an athletic build and has sandy coloured, receding hair.

When he was last seen he was wearing a dark grey Nike zip-up tracksuit top; black tracksuit bottoms bearing a blue Manchester United crest and a blue stripe; a T-shirt with a red stripe across the chest and a pair of black and white Nike Air Max runners. He was also wearing a thick gold chain.
