RobertHolohan (11): missing since yesterday afternoon

The search for a young boy who has been missing from his Co Cork home since yesterday afternoon has been called off for the night and will resume tomorrow morning.

Gardaí said 11-year-old Robert Holohan from the rural area of Ballyedmund, Midleton was last seen at 2.30 p.m. when he left his home on his BMX bicycle.

The bike was found at 5.15 p.m. by neighbours. Robert is described as four foot 11 inches in height and was wearing a black jacket with "Nike" written in orange on the back and was wearing black track suit bottoms.

A local Garda said around a dozen gardaí are now involved in the search for the boy, along with 50 to 60 members of the public. The Garda helicopter has also been brought in to assist in the search.
