Banned Kerry captain Paul Galvin is due to have his case heard by the Disputes Resolution Authority tonight in the hope of playing some part in the Kingdom's defence of their All-Ireland title.

Galvin was banned for six months after being sent off after a second yellow card against Clare in the Munster championship when he slapped referee Paddy Russell's notebook out of the official's hand at Fitzgerald Stadium.

This is Galvin's last chance to avoid missing the remainder of the championship, and although the ban is unlikely to be overturned, the player is hopeful of a ban reduction.
