A former president of the GAA, Mr Seosamh Mac Donncha, has been appointed chief executive of Foras na Gaeilge, the new north-south body. The former Galway hurling star will take up the appointment early in the new year.

Mr Mac Donncha is currently employed by the Galway City and County Vocational Committee as its Irish officer.
