A Gaelic football player who is challenging his suspension for alleged misbehaviour during a match in the summer will ask the High Court today for an order compelling the GAA authorities to allow him to play in the Co Donegal intermediate championship final on Sunday.

Mr Andrew Gallagher (26), who is player-manager of St Naul's, Mountcharles, was told on September 16th that he had been given a 12-week suspension arising from St Naul's match against Burt in the Co Donegal all-county league on July 4th last.

St Naul's had later qualified for the county intermediate championship semi-final, which Mr Gallagher missed after being informed of his suspension. St Naul's won and qualified for the final in Ballybofey this Sunday.

Mr Gallagher claims that two of the clubs represented on the disciplinary board which considered his case had a potential interest in his suspension.
