The Food Safety Authority of Ireland has imposed further restrictions on Belgian food following indications that the dioxin contamination crisis there is worse than initially indicated, writes Kevin O'Sullivan.

A new restricted product list was issued last night in consultation with the Department of Agriculture following a review by the EU veterinary committee. The products restricted are pork, poultry, beef and egg-based products. Milk and dairy products, including Belgian chocolate, are not included.
