The Irish fast food chain Supermac's has taken up a High Court judge's suggestion to donate 5,000 talking "Furby" keyrings, worth more than £25,000, to the Society of St Vincent de Paul.

It gave an undertaking to Mr Justice Kearns not to of fer Furby products as prizes. The promotion had led to legal action against Supermac's by Hasbro, which has contractual relations with the McDonald's fast food chain for the use of the Furby.
