Fresh violence reported in north Belfast

There were fresh disturbances in the flashpoint area of Limestone Road in Belfast this morning.

There were fresh disturbances in the flashpoint area of Limestone Road in Belfast this morning.

Up to 100 people had gathered in the area at around 7 a.m. and stones and fireworks were thrown during the disturbances, which have now been brought under control.

A PSNI spokeswoman said police and army were still at the scene.

Yesterday the police were called in to the Limestone Road to restore order after similar trouble broke out in the afternoon.
