Fourth arrest after Louth heroin find

A fourth man has been arrested as part of the investigation into the seizure of €3

A fourth man has been arrested as part of the investigation into the seizure of €3.2 million-worth of heroin in Co Louth last Friday.

He is being held at Lucan Garda station on foot of a European Arrest Warrant issued by the Dutch Authorities.

Earlier this afternoon, a 45-year-old arrested in relation to the seizure in Collon has been released without charge.

He was one of three people detained in an operation on Friday involving police from both sides of the border.

A man who was arrested in Banbridge, Co Down is due in court tomorrow while a file has been sent to the DPP in relation to the 45-year-old who was questioned at Navan Garda station.

Three vehicles were also seized in the operation which has been monitoring the drugs trade from Holland.

A 27-year-old man who arrested in the operation on Friday was remanded in custody this afternoon after appearing at Navan District Court.
