Four new cases of BSE reported in past week

Four cases of BSE have been reported in the past seven days, according to the Department of Agriculture.

Four cases of BSE have been reported in the past seven days, according to the Department of Agriculture.

This brings the total so far this year to 77. This compares to 126 in the same period in 2002.

The Department said the cases, which all involved animals over eight years old, were in Cos Clare, Monaghan, Offaly and Roscommon.
