Four prisoners at the high-security Maghaberry Prison in Northern Ireland are holding a rooftop protest.

Four prisoners at the high-security Maghaberry Prison in Northern Ireland are holding a rooftop protest.

The prisoners are protesting at conditions in the prison and are seeking segregation from loyalist inmates.

Three prisoners are on the roof of Bush House while the fourth climbed on to the roof of Roe House last night.

The action comes two days after the Northern Ireland Secretary Mr Paul Murphy confirmed a safety review would take place at the prison near Lisburn following attacks on prison officers' homes.

The prison has been the scene of a dirty protests by dissident republican prisoners. Johnny Adair is being held in the prison.
