Four people have been arrested in connection with the robbery of a cash-in-transit van in Dublin in February.

Four people have been arrested in connection with the robbery of a cash-in-transit van in Dublin in February.

Three men and a woman, all aged in their 20s, were detained this morning in relation to the incident which occurred on at St Mary's Place in Dublin 7 on the morning of February 1st.

The suspects are being held at the Bridewell, Pearse Street, Raheny and Mountjoy Garda stations under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.

A significant quantity of cash was stolen during the robbery.

The cash-in-transit van was had stopped at traffic lights when a silver car pulled up next to it and two men in balaclavas got out and smashed one of the van's windows using a hammer.

The driver of the van and the two men became involved in a struggle and a sum of money was taken before the culprits escaped the scene.
