A former St Patrick's Athletic footballer accused of plotting to export heroin to Ireland appeared before Liverpool Crown Court yesterday. Mr Derek Dunne (28), of Alfie Byrne House, Dublin, pleaded not guilty.

He is charged with plotting with others to export heroin between July 1st, 1994, and March 21st, 1995. Mr Dunne, arrested at Manchester Airport on January 5th, has been further remanded in custody until May 17th, when a pretrial review will be held.
